Intergenerational Mediation
Intergenerational Mediation looks at overcoming family arguments and disagreements. This form of mediation works between the various generations of your family.
Family relationships can be challenging at times. The relationships you have with your children, your parents, your in-laws, and your grandparents, are all different.
We often base our sense of identity and self-worth on the strength of the relationships that we have with those closest to us. We are always quick to blame, however, with every relationship dynamic we all need to take responsibility for the part we played in the state of the relationship.
Relationships are a crucial part of our everyday life. Parents, children, in-laws, stepchildren, work colleagues and friends all form part of our relationship network. When these relationships fail, it affects us deeply and creates feelings of anger, frustration, and sadness which causes a shift in the way we relate to ourselves and others around us.
Overcome family arguments and disagreements
The goal of intergenerational mediation is to help family members improve communication, resolve conflict, have a better empathic understanding of each other and their issues and help create healthier relationships. Often family history needs to be discussed and the truth needs to be shared. Resentment from the past can be the cornerstone of the breakdown in family relationships.
We understand the importance of allowing each party to address individual issues, allowing for deeper communication and more efficient conflict management.
