Practicalities

Seeking help during your time of need can often be daunting or even distressing. We are here to help no matter what the nature of your problem is.

Our Fees

We believe our fees fairly reflect the value of our service, no less our experience and training.

Online Counselling Session

Prices starting from
£75

Face-to-Face Counselling Session

Prices starting from
£85

Appointments with our Senior Couple Counsellor, Florence Gray, are charged at:
Online Counselling Session = £95 // Face-to-Face Counselling Session = £110

The Next Step

After your first session, you can arrange your next appointment with your counsellor directly if you are comfortable continuing to work with them. The counsellor will then place your appointment into the practice diary and Kath from admin will be in touch again to ask you to pay for your session by your chosen payment method. If you have any issues, please contact Florence directly on 07946434045.

If you need to cancel an appointment, we must insist on 48 hours notice. Please get in touch with Kath who runs the practice diary. If we get this, we will be able to reallocate the appointment to another client as we have a very busy diary. If we don’t get enough notice the counsellor is left with an empty slot and no payment for that session. If this happens, we will expect you to pay a cancellation fee to cover the counsellor’s costs.

If you are working with Florence please note she has a higher charge for individual and couple counselling and may ask to work with you for 1.5 hours. Florence continues to work with some couples and individuals.

What to expect

We will design a support plan specific to your needs.

Every client or couple is unique, therefore during your first session your counsellor will ask questions to help them to properly assess your situation and gain an insight into the work that needs to be done. The counsellor will then design a support plan tailored to suit your needs. During this session we would encourage you to ask questions to get a full understanding of the process.

Whether you work with Florence or one of our other counsellors, Florence will be a constant point of contact for every client throughout every stage of the counselling process. She will ask you for feedback after your first meeting with your counsellor to ensure you are comfortable with them. Apart from the services on this website we also have a team of specialist CBT counsellors working with depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, stress and phobias.

Online Counselling

Providing you with the tools you need to take the next step.

Technology is rapidly changing the ways we can interact with each other, and counselling is no exception. This
service can be provided upon request. For the below options you will need broadband/internet connection and
somewhere quiet and private you can speak without being overheard or interrupted. Your Counsellor will agree with
you what happens should the technology fail, but in all other respects the counselling relationship will be the same
as a ‘face to face’ one. The Counsellor will speak to you from a private room ...

Phone Counselling

The service will connect you with the counsellor on your mobile phone. Sessions for telephone counselling are between 30 minutes to an hour.

ZOOM Counselling

‘Zoom’ requires you to download the ‘Zoom’ application and set up an account. You will also need a PC, laptop, or smartphone with a webcam.

FACETIME Counselling

To access counselling through ‘FaceTime’ you will need a device with the ‘FaceTime’ App installed (such as an Apple Mac, MacBook, or IPad).

Microsoft Teams

We can also use Microsoft Teams to host appointments. Similar to Zoom, you need to download the Microsoft Teams app to your computer, laptop, or smartphone.

How To Make A Payment

We have two methods of payment. These are card payments or bank transfers. If you want to pay by card our practice manager, Kath, will take a payment from you over the phone at a time that suits you. She offers a good degree of flexibility and will be available to take card payments most of the time during the day Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

We have 12 counsellors working within Nightingale and therefore we need to keep payments centralised. Our counsellors do not get involved with payments and do not take cash. This is better for you as payments can take up valuable session time. On an odd occasion a client will want to still pay by cheque, which of course is acceptable to us.

When you book an appointment with Nightingale, Kath will send you an email and a request for you to pay for your session by card or bank transfer. Our bank details will be included in our terms and conditions if you prefer to pay by bank transfer.

Please read our terms and conditions, as it is important for you to understand our cancellation policy.

After you have completed your work with us, we will ask you for a short testimonial to add to our website. These are invaluable for other clients coming to us in the future, giving a sense of the connection you experienced when you first came to us. Be rest assured we will never disclose your name, all we want is your words.

Counselling Models

There are many ways of working or 'modalities' in counselling and psychotherapy.

Engaging in the wrong type of counselling can be counterproductive and can leave clients feeling frustrated and confused. One size does not fit all when it comes to counselling. Different models of counselling do different jobs. It is therefore crucial to ensure that you work with a counsellor that is right for you. Your initial assessment conversation with Florence will enable her to assess your situation. She will then align you to the most appropriate counselling model and counsellor to best suit your needs.

The main model of counselling we use at nightingale with couples and individuals is, psychodynamic, trans actual analysis and CBT. We also use other models of counselling and coaching techniques as and when it is appropriate to the issues the client is dealing with. In the main we are integrative in our approach which means we have experience of working with different models of counselling.
